The Nonna Diaries: Pasta Simple
By Rob Curran
Nonna is one of the finest exponents of Venetian cooking you will ever meet, and Venice, of course, one of the finest exponents of Italian cuisine. When you taste a pasta sauce cooked by Nonna, your palate will cast about in vain for some reference point on the Kroger jar aisle or in previous sauces of your own creation. Save yourself the trouble. You will never locate anything so variegated in flavor or with such optimal thickness; you will never locate anything in your prior experience that complements so perfectly those egg-derived gobbets and noodles we call pasta.
